Rogue
I got my trail name today. And what a day to get one too.
A day full of getting way off trail, climbing up and over mountain peaks of snow, ripping the bottom of my backpack, going without water for miles, and of a windy, mucky lake and campsite rather than the one I imagined "paradise lake" would be.
But it was also a day full of endless waterfalls and cascading streams, watching the frogs in the subalpine ponds, a vast array of colorful wildflowers and meadow springs, of having another great campfire, and of gaining ever more confidence in my ability to handle the trail.
When I ran into the laid back couple I'd camped near the night before, they said they'd thought of a trail name for me: Rogue.
"You make fires at every camp, you don't have a tent, and you wander around by yourself in a dress," were some of the reasons the girl noted.
I agreed it was very suiting : ]
